Demountable walls / floors are architectural walls that can be unmounted or reinstalled into any layout and location. These are full-height wall panels used for modular work spaces.
Durasteel demountable panel fire barrier systems are primarily installed in areas that require high levels of fire and blast protection, whilst still allowing access for maintenance and replacement of large equipment, such as transformers.
In addition to the standard features of a Durasteel barrier, including 4 hour fire rating in both directions and up to 56dB acoustic rating, our demountable barriers can be quickly and easily removed either as prefabricated modules or piece-by-piece, leaving a completely unobstructed and flush-finish opening through which equipment can be freely transported through. This removal process can be completed entirely by hand and does not require the use of any specialist lifting equipment.
For areas such as mrt tunnels that are subject to extreme changes in air pressures or frequent vibration, the barriers can be additionally engineered to resist these pressures and cyclic loading.
Features of Demountable Walls
• Over 90% of components of demountable walls can be reused. Hence they are sustainable.
• Demountable walls are installed and fixed on-site.
• The major units of demountable walls are the frames and boards. The boards are screwed to the frame
• The product installation crew brings a kit with different parts and units of the wall and assembles them at the site
• Including 4 hour fire rating in both directions and up to 56dB acoustic rating

• Services that are required to pass laterally through the barrier can be separately framed out in a non-demountable section and fire-stopped using our certified penetration seals..
• If regular personnel access into the room is required, a Durasteel door can also be built into the demountable barrier..
